A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Minisink Road Friday morning is in stable condition and a 21-year-old Mount Arlington resident has been charged with fleeing the scene, according to police.
Bonnie Biville has also been charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, endangering an injured victim and assault by auto.
At 8:43 a.m., Jefferson Township Patrolman Ryan McGowan responded to a report of a struck pedestrian on Minisink Road. McGowan located the victim, who had suffered a head injury after apparently being struck by a motor vehicle, according to a press release from the Jefferson Township Police Department. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital.
An investigation by police revealed Biville was operating a 2014 Jeep on Minisink Road, where she allegedly struck another vehicle, continued driving and struck the pedestrian who was walking on the side of the road, according to police. Biville fled the scene, police said.
With the assistance of the Mount Arlington Police Department, the vehicle and its operator were located and Biville was subsequently arrested.
The incident is still under investigation.
